AI accessibility isn’t just about features or compliance, it’s about possibility. On 22 October 2025, Tictag partnered with the Bedok Youth Society for the Disabled (BYSD) to showcase this possibility: an interactive workshop where participants with physical disabilities explored how AI and inclusive technology can foster independence, creativity, and meaningful contribution.
Building Bridges Through Inclusive Design
The session began with introductions that quickly became conversations about daily challenges, aspirations, and how technology could bridge the gap between what is and what could be. Our team presented the Tictag app alongside practical AI tools like ChatGPT, demonstrating how AI for people with disabilities goes beyond standard accessibility features. Participants experimented with generating personalised recipes, crafting resumes, real-time translation, and voice recording, discovering how AI can be a real partner in daily life.
We also discussed data transparency, how data shapes AI, why accuracy matters, and what happens when systems get it wrong. This honesty reflects our mission: building AI that people can trust, understand, and help shape.
Hands-On Learning, Real-World Impact
Participants engaged with the Tictag app through image- and audio-based tasks tailored to different accessibility needs. Many used assistive technologies, including text-to-speech, demonstrating curiosity, patience, and enthusiasm.
Every interaction underscored why inclusive collaboration matters. Participants weren’t just users, they became contributors to how AI learns and evolves, proving that inclusive technology thrives when communities help build it.
Key Takeaways
AI accessibility isn’t a destination, it’s an ongoing journey requiring diverse voices, authentic partnerships, and a willingness to listen and adapt. When communities with lived experience of disability inform technology, we create not just better products, but opportunities for participation, contribution, and empowerment that extend far beyond a single workshop or app.
We extend our gratitude to BYSD for their partnership. Together, we’re showing that inclusive technology isn’t just possible but it’s practical, powerful, and essential.
