On November 5, 2025, Tictag welcomed a lively group from Friends of the Disabled (FOD) to our office for an introductory AI workshop. The room buzzed with conversation and laughter, a reminder that exploring new technology can be both accessible and enjoyable.
As we guided participants through AI fundamentals, curiosity filled the space. Questions arose about how AI models process data, generate outputs, and sometimes produce inaccurate results. The group was particularly engaged during live demonstrations of Sora's image generation capabilities. When an AI-created image of a bat flying alongside planes appeared onscreen, delighted reactions rippled through the room.
The session also included hands-on exploration of the Tictag mobile app. Participants tested various image-based tasks, benefiting from recently added features like full-screen mode and magnification options, tools designed specifically to support users with visual or mobility needs. These enhancements reflect our ongoing commitment to making technology work for everyone.
One moment stood out. An elderly participant who uses a wheelchair shared in Mandarin, "I have been retired since I was 60... I live by myself." Her words illuminated why this work matters. For individuals facing isolation or limited opportunities, Tictag offers more than an app, it provides connection, purpose, and a pathway to participate in our increasingly digital world.
These workshops do more than teach technical skills. They open doors to financial opportunities and mental engagement, ensuring that people with disabilities have equitable access to technology's benefits. Every session reinforces our belief that innovation should be inclusive by design, not as an afterthought.
Building accessible technology requires partnership and shared commitment. If your organisation shares our vision of creating opportunities for people with disabilities through technology, we'd love to explore how we can work together.
